Swimming a Dog with 3 Legs

Lili, a 9 yr. old Great Pyrenees, born without a front leg, is walking in a wheelchair cart. She has arthritis in her right shoulder and right  knee. We were able to get her into the pool to swim and she did great! Her owner and her vet, who recommended us, feel it will benefit her to keep her muscles building and give some relief as well as better movement in her right shoulder and back legs. Hydrotherapy for older dogs

Keira is a 13 yr. old Neufie with degenerative disc problems in her back. Her owner wants to swim her in our warm pool for greater mobility and strength building in her muscles. She comes to us in a wagon as her walking is a problem for her. She swims slow but steady using all four legs. Hydrotherapy for Dogs

Sparky is a 10 yr. old Karelian Bear Dog mix with a torn ligament. His owners brougt him to us to strengthen his muscle with swimming. He is a very young and playful 10 yr. old. However he was tri podding on his other 3 legs. He has now had surgery to repair the ACL and will be returning to us in a few weeks for continued swimming to keep the mobility going with the repaired ACL leg and build his muscle in that leg. Dog Hydrotherapy in Santee

Ripley is a 7 1/2 year old Shepherd Mix with a torn cruciate repair. She came to us on 3 legs but after 5 swimming sessions she is now walking on all four legs without a limp. Her muscle is gaining strength and building in her injured leg from all the swim therapy. She nows gets right in the pool and swims for a full 30 minutes while fetching her favorite squeaky toy. She can take short walks on the leash now which was impossible before the swim therapy which puts no strain on the joints and muscles. She continues

Swimming Pug in Santee

Amee Lee is a 5 yr. old pug who was rescued by the San Diego Pug Rescue and was in need of hip surgery. After providing surgery and the appropriate amount of healing time, she was brought to us for swim therapy. After several weeks of therapy, coming to us 2 to 3 times per week, she is walking great and full of energy. She is now ready for her forever home. Swimming dogs in Santee

Zeus is a 2 yr. old Greater Swiss Mountain dog weighing 115 lbs. He is a big teddy bear that has been limping due to  problems in his right shoulder. He was very scared at first of the water but with a lot of patience and effort, he is now swimming fairly well after just 3 sessions. He has better movement after each swimming session. Reese, German Shepherd swimming in Santee CA

Reese is a year old German Shepherd that had a chip in his elbow and required surgery. The vet recommended swimming within 6 weeks of his surgery. He was brought by his wonderful foster parents to Tinassy's to help speed up his recovery. At first he was hesitant but with loving care and going slowly he was soon swimming beautifully and enjoying it. He is walking so much better now after just 6 sessions in the warm water! Swimming Rio after FHO surgery

Rio came to us after his vet recommended swimming to help speed his recovery from FHO surgery. The first two sessions he did splendid with his doggy life jacket on. By the third session he was so happy to be there that he got right into the pool with no life jacket and just started swimming. Hurshey, swimming a chocolate lab

Hurshey is a rescue dog with Second Chance Dog Rescue who has hip and elbow dysplesia. He is only 1 1/2 yrs. old. He has had one hip surgery and will require another one. They have brought him to us by the veterinarians recommendation to speed up his recovery with swimming in our warm pool. He is doing very well now and runs around. Rio, our newest dog to swim

Rio is a 2 yr. old Border Collie who had an FHO surgery on his right side. His surgeon recommended swimming to speed up his healing time. Though he is still walking with a limp, he swam beautifully for his first time. His owners were pleased that he took to the water and are bringing him back.
